Virtual Candles & Flowers
You and your visitors can leave a candle or flower as a small gesture of remembrance. They work on any memorial, free or upgraded, and every one stays for good — nothing you leave is taken away later. On an upgraded memorial they also burn at the grave in the garden, not just on the page.

Is it really free?
Yes. You can create a memorial page with their life story, up to three photos plus a cover photo, and a guestbook for family and friends, without paying anything. It stays online and you get a link you can share with anyone. There is no trial period and no card required.
What does the £29 add?
Room. The free page holds three photos plus a cover, which is the limit most people meet on their first afternoon. £29 raises that to 100 photos and adds a video of them, up to two minutes. Everything already on the page stays exactly as it is — nothing moves and the link does not change. It does not include a grave in the garden; that is the £59.
What does the £59 add?
A grave in the garden. The garden is a place you walk through, plot by plot, and the £59 gives them a plot of their own with the tombstone you choose — so family can visit them somewhere, rather than only reading a page. It also removes the photo limit entirely, adds video, and lets you write an epitaph for their headstone. Being listed and being able to receive candles and flowers are not paid features — every public memorial is findable and can receive tributes, free or upgraded. What the £59 changes is that those candles and flowers then stand at the grave itself, not only on the page.
Are these one-time payments?
Yes, both of them. There are no monthly subscriptions and no renewal fees — you pay once and the memorial stays online. For comparison, a death notice in a newspaper typically costs £100–£400, appears on a single day, and is gone by the next.
Do I have to decide straight away?
No. Publish for free and upgrade whenever you want, or never. Nothing you have written is lost either way, and the memorial page stays exactly where it is at the same link.
If I pay £29 now, do I pay the full £59 later?
No. If you move up to the garden later you pay the difference — £30 — not another £59. What you have already paid always counts towards the next step, so choosing £29 today never costs you anything for choosing it.
How does payment work?
When you choose to upgrade you are taken to a secure Stripe-hosted checkout page. Once payment is complete the change applies immediately — the extra photo room straight away, or the grave appearing in the garden. We never store your card details.
Can family and friends leave messages?
Yes. Visitors can sign the guestbook — leaving messages, photos, and virtual candles or flowers — without needing to pay anything themselves, unless they choose to leave a candle or flower gift.
Can I add virtual candles or flowers later?
Yes. You and your visitors can add virtual candles or flowers at any point after the memorial is live. Each one is a small optional purchase, and every one stays on the memorial permanently.
How long do candles and flowers last?
They stay for good. A candle you light or flowers you leave remain on the memorial permanently — nothing you pay for is taken away later, and any note left with it stays in the guestbook too. Gifts placed before August 2026 kept the duration they were bought with.
Can I make a memorial private?
You can make it unlisted — only people you send the link to can open it, and it never appears in search or in the memorial listings. Public memorials are listed for visitors to find, free or upgraded. Either way, a memorial with a grave has a headstone in the garden under their name; an unlisted one simply cannot be opened from it.
